Anyone got any good or bad insight about ASUS Live update?

Ive been having this Asus G73JW-A1 and includes this annoying "asus live update" green box that starts up when the laptop starts up. In the box has three downloadable items, "Ai Recovery Utility, Smart Logon Utility, and ASUS Splendid Utility Enhancement Utility". I read one person's view saying the live update was "unneccessary" and "slows the comp.". Was Curious if anyone is familiar with the live update and agrees if i should remove it, or keep it.
