What are you willing to give up...?

i was curious for the christian feedback here. if God had this plan for your life, of traveling the world and working with the poor and less fortunate, but you had to give up what meant the most to you what would you give up? would you walk away from family, friends, job etc for God or stay in the life you have and miss out on what He has planned and wants for you? you need to factor in what He will penalize you for not following him.
