Does Valium REALLY help before wisdom tooth surgery?

Valium sounds like a bad idea. I freaked out about it before, but about a minute after the IV is put in, you are out cold for the time of the surgery. When you wake up, you don't feel anything for a couple of hours because of all the novacaine and the ice. Afterwards, just apply ice every hour or so and take advil a couple times a day. You'll be fine; I promise.
